     We Did It!

With much appreciation to you, our community of supporters, we are very pleased to announce that the goals of our 10th Birthday - We Must Do More Campaign have been met and surpassed! In honor of Family Reading Partnership’s ten years of making an impact on the lives of children and families in our community, and to help us deepen and strengthen our work in the coming 10 years, the Triad Foundation offered a generous matching challenge. For this milestone in Family Reading Partnership history, Triad offered a dollar for dollar match for up to $250,000 raised during our 10th Birthday.

We are thrilled to report that by March 31, 2008, just 7 months after receiving the Triad Challenge, more than $260,000 was raised! "The support of the community, Triad and our family of donors has made the 10th Birthday Campaign an achievement we can all be proud of." Family Reading Partnership’s Director of Community Relations and Development, Lisa Berry, said reflecting on the success of the 10th Birthday campaign and special events. FRP saw and increase in both the number of donors to the organization and the amount of the average gift. “The Read To Me Society” was established for donors of $1,000 or more and a "Read to Me Legacy Society" for donors leaving bequests.

This successful campaign gives Family Reading Partnership the expanded capacity to deepen and strengthen the impact of our established programs and pave the way for FRP to develop new initiatives to serve families who need the most support and encouragement to find pleasure and joy in reading together. We look forward to our continued collaboration as we work to reach even more families and communities with the message that reading aloud to children and having access to books lay the foundation for a good life.

Our sincere thanks go again to the Triad Foundation for their generous challenge. We continue to be extremely grateful to Joanne Florino and the family of Roy Park, Jr. who believed in and seeded the success of the Family Reading Partnership from its earliest days, first through the Park Foundation and now through the Triad Foundation. Here's to the next ten years!
